Hoop PS&HR are proud to be working closely with a forward thinking and employee focused organisation who are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. This position is based in Abertillery and comes with a salary of up to 25,000.
You will play a key role in youth learners to fully engage in their training programmes. This role provides direct support tailored to individual learner needs, helping them develop skills, confidence, and motivation to successfully achieve their learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist learners in completing assigned work and ensure they remain engaged in lessons, alongside motivating and encouraging learning to progress further in their studies.
- Support tutors in delivering various learning programmes, ensuring active learner participation.
- Provide one-on-one and group support to learners based on their individual learning needs, alongside working closely with learners in developing personal, social, and employability skills.
- Help learners develop confidence, independence, and essential skills, including English and maths.
- Clarify and explain instructions to ensure learners understand and complete their tasks effectively.
- Keep the relevant teams and systems up to date with learner progress.
- Assist tutors in ensuring all learner paperwork is completed accurately and on time and develop learning resources to support different learning styles and needs.
- Fluency in Welsh (Desirable)
- Previous experience working with young people within education.
- Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and GPDR.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible in approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
- Classroom Assistant or Learning Support qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a training or learning environment.
- Knowledge of delivering learning programmes or providing one-to-one learner support.
