About the Role:Are you an experienced maintenance professional with a background in school settings? We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to provide essential maintenance cover at one of our Abingdon Secondary School sites for an initial period of one month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform both proactive and reactive maintenance, repair, and small-scale building work on school buildings, grounds, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Carry out portering and manual handling duties, such as moving furniture and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Use computer software competently for maintenance tracking and reporting.

Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience in repairs and maintenance, including the use of power tools, carpentry, decorating, building, and routine grounds maintenance.
  • Enjoy working as part of a committed and supportive team with a flexible and positive outlook.
  • Be reliable, experienced, and knowledgeable in Health and Safety and Safeguarding practices.
  • Possess good IT skills and strong interpersonal skills.
