My client is a leading specialist in designing and manufacturing pneumatic products. Over the years my client has developed specific technical ways to meet the demands of clients within sectors they work in, ensuring that they stay at the top of their industry. Having in house design engineers enables them to manufacture bespoke products whilst working closely with customer to provide a first-class service. Due to internal changes my client is now looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team and oversee their purchasing and supply chain functions.

£37,000 - £42,000 Depending on Experience.
25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, company pension & sick pay scheme.
Workings Hours are Mon- Thurs 8.00am until 4.45pm and 8.00am until 12pm on Friday
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Manage the day-to-day procurement and supply chain processes.
- Enterprise Resource Planning.
- Create plans and procedures for risk management and mitigation.
- Oversee demand management and forecasting.
- Materials Requirements Planning.
- Liase with suppliers to resolve quality problems.
- Negotiate with Suppliers.
- Benchmark suppliers to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Tender management
- Produce purchase orders through suppliers.
- Business KPI reports – Quality, Cost variances, Inventory,
- Monitor commodity costs and make recommendations.
- You will report to the Operations Manager.
- Work closely with all business functions.
To apply you MUST have or hold:
- CIPS Level 2 or above is desirable.
- Experience in a previous similar role.
- Project and planning skills
- Be able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- MRP/ERP experience is essential.
- Knowledge of raw materials purchasing is beneficial.
- Understanding of strategic sourcing
- Experience in supplier negotiation.
- Good organisational skills.
- Strong Communication skills – written and verbally.
- A strong “can do” attitude.
- Able to work under pressure.
