Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Job Overview
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials and labour to ensure competitive and compliant tender submissions.
- Review technical specifications, structural reports, and architectural details to assess project feasibility.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process, attending pre- and post-tender meetings.
- Collaborate with design, production, and site teams to ensure practical project execution and procurement alignment.
- Monitor commercial aspects of ongoing projects, including variations, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Maintain project data in CRM and ERP systems, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting for senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimising processes and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Job Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong technical knowledge of construction drawings, technical specifications, and procurement strategies.
- Good understand of industry software such as MS Project, AutoCAD, Trimble (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of NEC and JCT contracts (preferred).
- Full driving license
Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Salary & Benefits
- 30,000 - 40,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
- 20 days of holiday per year plus Bank Holidays.
