Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Job Overview

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials and labour to ensure competitive and compliant tender submissions.
  • Review technical specifications, structural reports, and architectural details to assess project feasibility.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process, attending pre- and post-tender meetings.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and site teams to ensure practical project execution and procurement alignment.
  • Monitor commercial aspects of ongoing projects, including variations, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain project data in CRM and ERP systems, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting for senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimising processes and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Job Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction drawings, technical specifications, and procurement strategies.
  • Good understand of industry software such as MS Project, AutoCAD, Trimble (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of NEC and JCT contracts (preferred).
  • Full driving license
