Commissioning Manager / Commissioning Lead
450 Million Reservoir Project on the South Coast
Rate - Negotiable depending on references

Join a transformative project as our Commissioning Manager, playing a critical role in the delivery, operation, and maintenance of a major 450 million reservoir on the south coast. You will be pivotal in ensuring a seamless transition from construction through commissioning to full operation, working closely with our contractors and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Asset Integration Team, including two Asset Integration Engineers, with support from the Design Guardian, Operations, and our Design and Build contractors.
  • Collaborate with main contractors to set industry-leading standards for commissioning processes, procedures, and assurance, serving as a benchmark for future reservoir projects in the UK through a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with asset design, delivery, and testing requirements, monitoring performance and working with contractors to address issues and refine processes.
  • Prioritize health and safety across all site activities.
  • Facilitate contractor and operations collaboration during the design process, promoting innovation, best practices, and adherence to quality standards. Plan for commissioning within the design phase to ensure system integration, operability, and maintainability.
  • Communicate and report effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the commissioning of the entire project, coordinating with all contractors and work packages, including the reservoir, pipelines, pumping stations, and water treatment plants.
  • Report to the Engineering Manager on the development and implementation of commissioning and testing plans.
  • Work with NEC Supervisors, Asset Integration Engineers, and Project Managers to identify and resolve defects.
  • Manage commissioning risks and constraints across the project.
  • Develop and oversee the Operational Readiness and Transfer into Operations plan.


Skills, Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree.
  • Extensive experience in commissioning, testing, or asset management.
  • Professionally qualified or significant relevant experience. Experience with Contract Management and ERP software is advantageous.
  • Valid driving license and access to a car.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to review and edit reports and write executive summaries.
  • Understanding of the construction industry and professional services.
  • Technical skills in asset management software, commissioning processes, and controls.
  • Familiarity with NEC contract management methodology.
  • Excellent analytical skills to review commissioning and testing plans, witness their implementation, identify defects, and recommend actions.
  • Proficiency in office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
