Flux Consulting have partnered with a leading family run Main Contractor and Developer who, due to expansion,are seeking a passionate and driven Social Value Officer to join theteam.

Youwill play a key role in developing and delivering thesocial value strategy, ensuring that the business leaves a lasting positive impact on the communities in which theyoperate. Reporting into the Office Manager, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to embed social value into the heart ofconstruction projects, focusing on areas such as local employment, skills development, community engagement, environmental sustainability, and charitable initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of this position includes:

Social Value Strategy Implementation: Support the development and execution of the company's social value strategy across all construction projects, aligning with corporate objectives and client requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, community groups, clients, subcontractors, and internal departments to promote and deliver social value initiatives.

Community Engagement: Coordinate with local communities to identify needs and opportunities for collaboration. Ensure the delivery of projects that create positive impacts, such as employment opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and community investment.

Employment and Skills Development: Work closely with the Office Manager to develop programs that encourage local employment, training, and upskilling, particularly for underrepresented groups in the construction industry.

Measurement and Reporting: Track, monitor, and report on social value outcomes using recognized frameworks such as the Social Value Portal or the TOMs (Themes, Outcomes, and Measures) framework. Prepare regular reports for senior management and clients.

Charitable Partnerships and Volunteering: Develop partnerships with local charities and coordinate employee volunteering programs that contribute to the social value agenda.

The ideal applicant will possess;

Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction or infrastructure industry, with a strong understanding of social value principles.

Strong project management and organizational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.

Proactive, with a passion for driving social change.
