About the Role

In this Retail Sales Assistant role, you will support the Retail Manager in running a high-performing, customer-focused store in Ashford. Ensuring a welcoming environment to achieving key sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Retail Manager with day-to-day store operations to meet financial targets
  • Maintain high standards of merchandising and ensure an appealing, organised shop floor
  • Handle stock management: receiving, sorting, pricing, and displaying donations
  • Oversee shop administration tasks, including till operations
  • Support and promote the Gift Aid scheme to maximise revenue from donations
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and customers

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Stock & Display: Price, prepare, and maintain stock following guidelines, creating an attractive, clean shopping environment
  • Volunteer Management: Support, train, and motivate volunteers, fostering a positive, productive team environment
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to all visitors, representing Pilgrims Hospices with warmth and professionalism
  • Compliance: Follow Trading Standards and other regulations to ensure all items are compliant for sale
