Summary of role
Handling a varied caseload of private and legal aid funded criminal defence casesRepresenting clients from initial caution through to case conclusionDealing with ranging matters from police caution through to Magistrates / Crown Court
Main tasks and responsibilities
Manage a range of criminal cases, including traffic matters, serious violence, murder, sexual offences, fraud, and public order and dishonestyDevelop and maintain strong client relationships, providing commercially viable advice and supportProvide representation in court, ensuring the best possible outcome for clientsWork collaboratively with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive legal servicesTo ensure confidentiality of the firm's and clients' documents and information, maintaining the highest standard of client care
Any other relevant tasks required to provide support and assistance to the team as required.
Personal skills and attributes
Qualified Criminal Solicitor with current practicing certificate - 2 years PQE+*Duty Solicitor statusAn exceptional grasp of criminal law and procedure.Proficiency in organising tasks and adhering to deadlines.Ability to offer quality counsel to clients.A capacity to work efficiently while maintaining a flexible approach.Professional and pleasant with the strong communication skillsExcellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficientlySelf-motivated and proactive to identify problems and find solutionsAble to give and receive constructive feedback, working effectively as part of a teamFlexible, adaptable and agile and able to manage unexpected changes to workloadAble to prioritise and manage time effectivelyActive in promoting the Firm's services, image, values and ethos
