Sharper Consulting Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Environmental Protection Officer to handle a range of statutory nuisance issues.

Working on behalf of our client, you will be responsible for managing public complaints and conducting enforcement actions related to noise, smoke, odour, drainage, and waste/flytipping.


This role requires an experienced professional with a strong background in environmental health and a commitment to community welfare.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complaint Resolution:Respond promptly and professionally to public complaints regarding statutory nuisances, including noise, smoke, odour, drainage, and waste/flytipping.

  • Enforcement Actions:Conduct enforcement activities in line with statutory nuisance regulations, ensuring compliance and addressing violations effectively.

  • Public Engagement:Work closely with residents and community members to resolve complaints, providing guidance and technical information as needed.

  • Inspection and Reporting:Perform site inspections, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports to support enforcement actions and complaint resolution.


Requirements:

  • Education:BSc/MSc in Environmental Health or a related field.

  • Professional Registration:EHORB/CIEH registration is essential.

  • Experience:Prior experience in enforcement action, particularly with statutory nuisances.

  • Skills:Strong communication skills for effective public engagement and technical knowledge of environmental protection laws and guidelines.

  • Transport:Valid drivers license and access to own vehicle, as site visits are required.
