You will support the HRD in providing a comprehensive HR service across the full employee lifecyle. This is very much a hands-on, operational and generalist role. Description
As the HR Manager - Manufacturing, you will support the HR Director in the provision of a comprehensive HR service within the business across the full employee lifecyle and in compliance with UK legislation, in order to achieve business goals and to ensure that our client is a great place to work.
This is very much a hands-on, operational and generalist role.
- To assist Managers in the recruitment, selection and onboarding of new starts to meet current and future needs of the business.
- To optimise employee wellbeing and support the attendance management process.
- To facilitate resolution of employee relations issues including disciplinary and grievance processes.
- To work with the HR Director in the preparation and delivery of in house training/development to meet business objectives.
- To drive employee engagement initiatives including reward and retention strategies and engagement surveys.
- To support development of the HR team.
- To assist in the provision of Key Performance Indicators/HR metrics.
- To support managers in the compliance of policies, procedures and best practice.
As well as managing the BAU/day-to-day HR elements, you will also be heavily involved in a range of initiatives aimed at driving modernisation, change and improvements within both the HR function and how the wider site operates = in essence, identifying where value can be added across the whole HR remit.
This could encompass topics such as a review of HR polices, improving the functionality of the HRIS (as well as looking at new technologies too), driving employee engagement, a fresh look at the current Reward strategy, identifying and managing talent, driving performance and accountability, and much more in time.
This role is a visible and onsite role and requires the person to be at the site in Banbury 5 days per week.
Profile

- Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law.
- HR experience in a manufacturing environment is essential (or similar blue collar/plant/site environment).
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 minimum).
- Preferred degree level qualification.
- Ability to make data driven decisions.
- Strong communicator and influencer.
- Discrete in handling sensitive data.
- Change management and continuous improvement bias.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and can work with employees at all levels.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and to balance priorities.
