Wiremill Support Operator

Rolling Continental shift pattern, 2 days (6am - 6pm and 2 nights 6pm - 6am then 4 days off (This will also include working weekends when the shift falls on those days)

Rapid Recruit are on the lookout for an experienced Wiremill Support Operator on behalf of our client based in Barnsley. This is a full-time, permanent position. You will maintain the high cleaning standards in the wire mill & support the wire mill operators when required. You will be liaising with Wire Mill Manager/Process Lead/Shift lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- To follow daily housekeeping schedule.
- Weigh, record & report scrap/scale levels.
- Organise & ensure consumables (Sanding belts, soap etc) are stored correctly/ neatly.
- Organise and review all secondary equipment, die station, wire drawing equipment.
- Assist in other departments if required.
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Eradicate or minimise all scrap/waste at all times.
- Complete any reasonable request by management.
- Train to cover wire mill operators when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Wire drawing experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year within a manufacturing department.
