This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a childs educational journey, providing the support they need to thrive in a mainstream classroom setting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to a Year 4 student with Autism.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Use appropriate strategies to manage and support the child's social and emotional development.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the student is engaged and motivated.
  • Monitor and record the students progress, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCO.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for the child.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with Autism or other Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and enhancing the learning experience of children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with children.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child care is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
