The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer is a pivotal role in the Engineering & Manufacturing department of a prominent industrial/manufacturing company. The position requires a team member with a wide range of technical skills to carry out maintenance tasks efficiently and the role is a night shift based role.

Description

  • Carry out essential maintenance working through a programme of PPM
  • Assist in developing the agility maintenance system
  • Attend breakdowns
  • Ensure machine safety standards are kept to the highest level and ensure critical spares are maintained
  • Install / maintain electrical & electro-mechanical plant machinery
  • Improve factory OEE through development and innovation of the production facility
  • Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
  • Program Siemens / other PLC equipment
  • Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiencies
  • Ensure adherence to the company's quality system
  • Working hours - 6.00pm till 4.30am, Monday to Thursday (nights)

Profile

A successful Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer should have:

  • Minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • ONC/BTEC - HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical engineering
  • 17th / 18th edition qualification
  • Sound knowledge of Siemens PLC's - s7 TIA portal
  • Time served Electrician with experience of working in a manufacturing environment ideally heavy manufacturing or FMCG
  • Team player and strong communicator
  • Good exposure to health & safety standards
  • Excellent analytical & fault finding / problem solving skills
  • Good working knowledge of EHS
  • Passionate about improvement with knowledge of Lean manufacturing
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of electric motors / pneumatics
  • Sound mechanical knowledge and skills
