Production Team Leader

Pension: Yes standard 3% employer and 5% employee

Hours: Monday to Friday 8-hour shift pattern rotating each week, covering earlies, afternoons and nights. (No weekend work)

Holidays: 25 days

The role:

We are seeking a production team leader to join our busy production department to lead a team of production workers.

The main duties of the role will include the following:

  • Manage and lead a team of production workers to ensure production targets are being met ensuring quality, costs and customer demands are being met.
  • Working alongside other departments and managers to ensure health and safety is always implemented and shift handover is completed.
  • Planning rotas, managing the workforce including disciplinary action, managing holidays and sick leave and ensuring cover is always provided
  • Working towards targets and always trying to make improvements through KPI monitoring and reporting, including weekly audits.
  • Recruitment of new staff members including training, development and conducting regular reviews.

About you:

  • Previous experience as a production leader in a lean manufacturing background is a must.
  • Excellent planning, management and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a strong leader with excellent communication skills.
  • A proven track record in recruiting, training and developing production personnel.
  • Proficiency in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previously worked in a production environment with continuous improvement strategies such as 5s.
