We are supporting a company based in Basildon who are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller for a 6-month FTC. You will be offered a salary of £40,000 - £50,000 and to be successful you must be able to start immediately or with a short notice period. This is a fully office-based role with free parking onsite, working Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm, with an early finish on Fridays and a supportive team environment.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Overseeing one in the team

  • Serve as the main point of contact for annual audits

  • Handle VAT returns across the UK and Ireland

  • Set weekly and monthly foreign exchange rates on Sage and update schedules

  • Process daily bank payments and manage monthly bank reconciliations

  • Manage salary and stock records, including posting relevant journals

  • Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register and associated depreciation journals

  • Prepare and analyse sales vs cost of sales, and post adjustment journals at month-end

  • Produce weekly Management Information reports

  • Review and process employee expenses

To be considered for this position you must have experience in a similar position and be proficient in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel.
