Design Engineer

Design Engineer required for a well-established manufacturer based in the Basingstoke area, who are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new products and drawings, utilising 3D modelling software.

• To be responsible for research and/or calculations for customers seeking component and system solutions.
• Using design software to develop models and drawings of new products.
• Liaise with production teams to oversee production process and resolve any design queries.
• Modify and refine drawings as required.
• Provide pre and post-sales support in relevant product ranges direct to customers.
• Maintain existing engineering records and designs.
• Assess all engineering drawings/prototypes to determine issues or risks.
• Ensure costs are kept to a minimum/working within defined budgets.
• Review processes and highlight and implement improvements where appropriate.

• 2+ years of experience within a Design Engineering role
• Experience with 3D modelling software such as Solidworks, Catia, Inventor or Solidedge.
• Based in commutable distance of Basingstoke
• A can-do attitude and ability to work on own initiative
• An understanding of quality processes

• Starting salary 30,000 - 38,000 depending on experience
• Monday to Friday, full-time, permanent position
• Holiday allowance and pension
