Our client is experiencing strong growth with exciting opportunities and are looking for a flexible, practical structural engineer who can grow with the company to achieve the goals of the business in parallel with their personal ambitions.

To be considered for this Bridge Engineer role you will be a BEng or MEng Engineer, graduate member with either ICE or IStructE ideally with a minimum of two years' experience post graduation. Successful candidate will be involved in the design of various type of structures including (but not limited to) footbridges, railway bridges, road bridges, station buildings, level crossings etc. The works, not only include new bridge designs but also the designs of repairs and strengthening works. On site surveys, client meetings will also be major part of the works. The candidate should be conversant with engineering software.

As a Structural Engineer, you will be part of a team of engineers and technicians and helps the delivery of projects to timescale and budget. You will have some experiences to project manage to cover the whole project life cycle including acquiring opportunities, bidding/tendering, contract negotiation, feasibility design, detailed design and construction support. You will also be involved in financial aspects of the projects including approving invoice payment, invoicing and debt collect.

Working as a Bridge Engineer you will:

  • Design of civil and structural schemes
  • Experiences in design of Bridges is preferrable.
  • Experiences in working with Network Rail will be an advantage.
  • Review and checks of other schemes prepared by others
  • Carrying out inspections and surveys of structures and preparing reports
  • Undertaking feasibility / option studies
  • Preparation of project programmes

To be considered for this Bridge Engineer role we require the following experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge and attributes;

  • Relevant Civil/Structural Engineering degree BEng, MEng or MSc.
  • Engineer with +2 years post-graduation.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport would be useful but not imperative
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK and high standard of written English

Salary/Package

Remuneration will be commensurate with background and experience in line with the current industry rates. The package includes pension scheme, Health Insurance, 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays and cycle to work scheme.

Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus statutory holidays and birthday. Option to purchase up to 5 additional days' holiday per year
