Our client are looking for a talented Project Accountant to join their team and help drive the financial success of a new major contract. Your Role:

As the Project Accountant, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring the smooth transfer of services for a go-live on 1 April 2025. Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you'll play a crucial role in:

  • Recording, forecasting, and reporting mobilisation costs
  • Supporting the Due Diligence process with insightful analysis and interpretation
  • Identifying and mitigating financial risks
  • Building cost centre structures and establishing reporting and approval hierarchies
  • Leading budget builds based on due diligence findings
  • Managing cutover processes such as asset transfer, suppliers, customers, property, and treasury
  • Costing sub-contracts and service level agreements for both revenue and expenditure
  • Implementing key control processes and training on systems like Proactis

What We're Looking For:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum AAT qualification with extensive experience in a similar role
  • Project experience and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • IT literacy and the ability to quickly adopt new systems
  • Driving license and access to a car

Personal Attributes:

  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Adaptability in a dynamic reporting environment
  • Confidence to challenge operational management when necessary
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Clear communication of complex financial issues to non-financial stakeholders

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Experience with systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Proactis, and iTrent
  • Background in the NHS or care sector
