they are looking for someone who can demonstrate more technical experience, for example, calculating and posting journals & accruals with month end experience / understanding of double entry bookkeeping.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Assistant, your role will be pivotal in managing key day-to-day finance activities and processes. You will take on responsibilities such as managing the Grain Purchase ledger and performing month-end duties. Your excellent attention to detail will be crucial in handling all aspects of Credit Control and conducting Sales & Production analysis. Furthermore, you will demonstrate your commitment to high standards by ensuring suppliers are paid as per agreed terms and assisting with the annual external audit. Your ability to engage with colleagues across all areas of the business will contribute significantly to your success in this role.

  • Managing the Grain Purchase ledger, query resolution, reconciliations.
  • Performing month-end duties including journals, accruals, RNI and inventory reviews.
  • Handling all aspects of Credit Control.
  • Conducting Sales & Production analysis & reporting within the UK and Parent Company.
  • Processing AP invoices and credit notes from Suppliers, query resolution, reconciliations.
  • Preparing weekly payment runs, ensuring suppliers are paid as per agreed terms.
  • Assisting with the annual external audit & completing year-end tasks within timelines.
  • Ensuring compliance with fiscal, legal, and group control frameworks.
  • Managing several Finance Mailboxes.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Accounts Assistant position brings a wealth of skills and qualifications. You have GCSE English and Math's (Grade 4 or Grade C or equivalent) and are QBE or working towards a qualification in ACCA, ACA or CIMA or AAT. Your previous experience within a similar Finance role has equipped you with an understanding and experience of double entry bookkeeping. You thrive under pressure and can meet tight deadlines. Your computer literacy and excellent Excel skills will be put to good use in this role. Above all, your commitment to high standards, accuracy, and sound judgement make you the perfect fit for this position.
