Thecompanydesignsandmodifiesrobotsandautomationequipmentusedinabroadrangeofindustrialapplications,whichmayinvolverotatingequipment,high-precisionaccessories,roboticarmsetc..Themechanicaldesignengineerwillactivelyengagewithcustomerstodevelopcustomiseddesignsthatmeetwiththeirspecifications,andthenworkcloselywiththeproductionteamstoassemblethefinalproducts.

Thisisasmallcompanywithlessthan50staff,anditiscriticalthatthemechanicaldesignengineerandproductionteambuildcloseworkingrelationshipswithoneanother.Asthesolemechanicaldesignengineerinthebusiness,theassemblyteamswilllooktoyoufordirectionandleadership,soyoumustbecomfortablewiththeresponsibilityand(genuinely)beagoodteamplayer.

YouwillalreadyhaveexperienceinSolidWorks3Dmechanicaldesign,andafewyearsofexperienceindesigningproductswithcomplexmovingparts.

Withitbeingasmallteamandthenecessityforcloseworkingpartnerships,itisexpectedthatyouwillbeinBedford(wherealldesignandproductionoperationsarebased)mostofthetime,althoughflexibilitycanbeprovidedforthosewhoneedit.
