ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will take a key role in the design and manufacture of products at various stages throughout projects and provide support to other members of the mechanical team as required. Based in our offices in Belfast, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of the mechanical engineering team and there may requirement to travel from time to time. This role has the potential for progression to the role a Team Leader position.

KEY TASKS

* Use customers CAD data to produce drill file information for fixture manufacture.

* Revise and update existing specifications and drawings to incorporate requested design changes from engineering, manufacturing or quality assurance.

* Design new parts or assemblies to meet design requirements using 3D CAD systems

* To liaise with the end customer to ensure that specifications are met.

* To work with existing suppliers and source new suppliers as required.

* Support the operation of the CNC and Pacer machines as needed.

* Operate workshop equipment, i.e., lathe, mill, etc. if required

* Carry out any other task that may be required from time to time

ABOUT YOU

* Educated to Degree level in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years' experience in a similar role

* Experience in both two- and three-dimensional design software

* Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD package

* Valid passport and a full driving license

KEY SKILLS

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

* Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment

* Be self-motivated, be able to manage time and set priorities

* Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written

* Work well under pressure

* Team player

* Ability to establish good relationships with suppliers
