• An industry-leading financial institution is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join their Markets Data Strategy team.
• As a Senior Big Data Developer you will be involved in building a next-generation Data Fabric to revolutionize approach to Business, Analytical, and Regulatory needs
• Key words: Python, SQL, Scala, Hadoop, Big Data, Hive, Apache Spark, ETL

• Day rate: ~£550-£600/day - Inside IR35
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: 11 months (highly likely to be extended)
• Hybrid working - 3 days/week in the office
• You NEED to be based in Northern Ireland / Belfast. We cannot accept applications from any other location.

Key responsibilities of a Senior Big Data Developer:

• Onboard new users and clients to our Big Data platform
• Set up and maintain automated build pipelines
• Conduct code reviews and optimize query performance
• Develop scalable, fault-tolerant big data solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data requirements and quality issues

Required Skills and Experience for a Senior Big Data Developer:

• 5+ years of experience in big data technologies, with 3+ years in Apache Spark and Cloudera
• Strong knowledge of Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Kafka, and YARN
• Excellent programming skills in Python and/or Scala
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
