Nursery Cook

We are looking for a Kitchen Team Member to join our busy and engaging nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to. We use a company called The Professional Nursery Kitchen to supply our food and the process is extremely straightforward whereby we place the meals in the oven and cook to temperature. The ideal candidate will have a passion for such a role and be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the kitchen area.
  • Prepare food items as necessary
  • Ensure that all food items are stored and handled properly.
  • Managing stock rotation within the nursery's kitchen
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines when handling food items.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals as needed.
  • Assist in the cleaning of dishes, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher
  • Filling in all paperwork associated with QBDN's kitchen as well as Environmental Health documentation
  • Managing dietary and allergy food - supporting those individual children's needs
  • Communicating meals to the rooms
  • Preparing numbers of bowls/plates/cups etc for the required number of children at each mealtime routine

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
