Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Estimator to join our team in the building services sector. This role is ideal for an individual looking to develop a career in estimating within the (MEP) sector. The Junior Estimator will work closely with the senior estimator and project managers to prepare accurate cost estimates and assist with tendering processes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for building services projects, including mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to understand MEP requirements.
  • Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for building services components.
  • Support senior estimator in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions for MEP projects.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in building services engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • 0-2 years of experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or a related role within building services.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
  • Ability to interpret MEP technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within the building services industry.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of industry-standard estimating methodologies and cost analysis techniques for building services.
  • Some experience in working with procurement teams and suppliers for MEP components.
  • Awareness of construction contracts and project management principles specific to building services.
