Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our dynamic team in an EBD/LD environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing support and guidance to a team of staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to our service users. This role involves working closely with individuals with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and Learning Disabilities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence, well-being, and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of support staff, ensuring high standards of care and support are delivered consistently.
  • Care Planning: Assist in the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans, ensuring that they meet the needs of each service user.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including safeguarding and health and safety standards.
  • Shift Management: Manage shifts effectively, including overseeing rotas, sleep-ins, and emergency cover to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Support & Guidance: Provide hands-on support to the team during challenging situations, offering guidance and advice on best practices in handling behaviours associated with EBD/LD.
  • Communication: Act as a key point of contact for families, external agencies, and other stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and reports, documenting all interactions and interventions with service users as required.
  • Training & Development: Identify training needs within the team and assist in the delivery of training sessions to support staff development.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 years' experience working in a similar setting, with a focus on Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and/or Learning Disabilities.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in supervising or leading a team, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or above).
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, service users, and their families.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including sleep-ins and weekends as required.
  • Driving License: A full UK driving license is essential.
