Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Art, Graphics and Photography to inspire and enthuse students and to further strengthen the achievement and progress of students within our Art and Photography department.

 

St Thomas More is a good school (Ofsted 2022) committed to high standards of growth and professional development.  The school is popular – always oversubscribed beyond our admission limit – and well respected in the local community. We are a successful school with a large Sixth Form located near Willenhall, with easy access to the M6 motorway network. We welcome and encourage informal visits. 

 

The qualities we are looking for include:

 

  • A passionate teacher with strong subject knowledge in Art, Graphics, and Photography, with expertise in Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator. Proficiency in using DSLR cameras and delivering high-quality Photography lessons, enabling students to develop their technical and creative skills. The ability to deliver creative and engaging lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, with Photography experience highly desirable. Consistently good or outstanding classroom practice and positive academic outcomes for all students. A commitment to fostering creativity and contributing to departmental and whole-school improvement plans. High expectations of self and students, with the ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with flexibility and a collaborative approach. A willingness to contribute fully to the life of the school, including being a supportive Form Tutor and engaging in extra-curricular activities.
