Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant for a business based in central Birmingham. This role offers an opportunity for you to develop and take on some line management experience aswell as lead from the front with the management accounts preparation within your division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Processing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and monthly & year end journals
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including postings and account reconciliations
- Reporting on debtors and creditors and delivering and dealing with invoice queries/disputes
- Completing Balance sheet, Control Accounts, Bank & Company Credit Cards reconciliations on monthly basis
- Management of fixed asset register.
- Processing of credit card statements and employee expenses.
- Reviewing & Submitting VAT and annual returns, reconciling to the accounting system
- Management of client accounts.
- Assist with the yearend process and liaise with external auditors
- Other Adhoc tasks as required.
Essential requirements:
- Studying a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Excellent Excel skills
- Previous experience in a similar role (1-2 years)
