About the Role

We are looking for a proactive Project Cost Accountant/Controller to join our dynamic team in the West Midlands. In this hybrid position, you will play a crucial role in managing financial performance by preparing comprehensive financial reports and collaborating closely with project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.
  • Budget Management: Work with project managers and stakeholders to develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Variance Analysis: Investigate and analyse cost variances, providing insights and explanations for any discrepancies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders on financial performance, highlighting risks and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Cost Control: Collaborate with project teams to identify potential cost overruns and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a contracting or project-based environment, ideally in a cost accounting or controlling role.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
