Financial Accountant

Churchill Howard are recruiting for a Financial Accountant within a leading Financial Services business based in Birmingham. This highly successful and progressive organisation has recently been through a period of positive change so are looking for ambitious and intelligent fully qualified accountants to join them in their journey. This is a varied role bringing together different areas of the business and managing multiple stakeholder relationships, with a view to add value in both the short and long term.Responsibilities include:* Co-operating with different stakeholders to ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are met* Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures* Preparing statutory accounts at year end including assisting with the annual audit process* Supporting with the development of models and providing commentary on analysis* Preparing journals for Group entities* Understanding control procedures and preparing monthly reconciliations* Drive improvements in the efficiency of process and systems within the finance department * Giving technical accounting advice on IFRS standards (IFRS 9) to different business stakeholders* Adhoc project work on requestYou will be:* A Qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) with strong technical knowledge (In particular 9 IFRS)* An excellent communicator across all levels* A team player* Able to deliver highly accurate results within tight time frames* Able to adapt to different requirements within a complex businessThis company offers a friendly, open and inclusive environment and development opportunities for those who are driven to succeed.
