Location: BirminghamHays Recruitment is partnering with a local council to recruit a skilled Technical Accountant to support the end-of-year accounts for the fiscal year 2024/2025. This interim position has arisen due to a secondment within the team, and we are seeking an experienced professional to provide additional support during this critical period.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and finalise end-of-year accounts for the local council.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyse financial data.
- Provide technical accounting support and guidance.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in the accounts.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in preparing end-of-year accounts within a local council environment.
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of relevant accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
