Are you an experienced sales professional with a strong background in technical sales? We are seeking a motivated and driven Sales Manager/Sales Director to lead business development efforts in the education and industrial sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established machine tool supplier and play a crucial role in expanding our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and develop new and existing business within the education and industrial sectors.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets set by the board.
  • Deliver gross profit objectives as set by the Managing Director.
  • Work closely with the MD & marketing team to create and execute a business development plan.
  • Provide sales forecasts and reports as required by the business.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Provide customers with technical and commercial information.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry and product knowledge.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Proven experience in technical sales, ideally in engineering or machine tool sales.
  • Strong background selling into education and industrial sectors (schools, colleges, universities, and industrial clients).
  • Knowledge of machine tools, milling machines, and lathes is an advantage.
  • Ability to develop and execute a business development plan independently.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to generate new sales leads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and computer literacy.
  • Self-motivated, highly driven, and able to work without supervision.
