Role:Commercial Director - Freelance

Day Rate:Circa 1000.00 per day

Contract Length:12 months

Location:UK-based, with travel as needed

This global civil infrastructure contracting business is seeking an experienced Commercial Director with significant infrastructure, highways, project finance, and transport projects experience to join their team on a 12-month freelance basis.

The primary remit will be to lead commercial strategy across the business, including contract review, partnership negotiation, and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive strategic commercial growth in alignment with company goals, ensuring profitability and sustainable success in transport infrastructure.

- Provide expert leadership to the commercial management function, collaborating with the CEO and board on strategic decisions and project delivery.

- Establish and maintain key client relationships, manage a high-performing team, and foster a culture of innovation, transformation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Proven experience as a senior leader in contracts management, engineering, or project management within civil engineering.

- Chartered Member of a professional institution with a degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Law.

- Expertise NEC 3 & 4 contracts, let under option A, B & C

- Strong strategic, commercial, and leadership acumen with a track record of success in growth and transformation initiatives.

- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a high level of credibility and professionalism.
