Contracts Manager

Our client is a well-established roofing contractor specialising in industrial and commercial roofing services. With expertise spanning re-roofing, gutter liners, felt membranes, and comprehensive repair and maintenance solutions.

Due to company growth, they are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the sheeting and cladding side of our roofing business, with a specific focus on asbestos removal, replacement, and refurbishment projects. As the Contracts Manager you will have a solid background in roofing, particularly sheeting and cladding as well as experience managing refurbishment projects from start to finish.

Firstly, What's in it for you?

  • £40,000 - £55,000 DOE
  • Company car provided or 45p/mile allowance if using your own vehicle.

  • 30 days in total (22 standard, plus 8 bank holidays).

  • 7am - 4:30/5pm, Monday to Friday (mostly office-based with some flexibility).
  • Occasional work-from-home options, but primarily office-based. Family-friendly policies, with flexibility on hours when needed.

Contracts Manager

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage roofing contracts, with a specialisation in sheeting and cladding
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered safely on time, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulations, especially related to asbestos handling and disposal.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and the internal team to coordinate project logistics and materials.
  • Perform site inspections and attend project meetings as necessary to ensure contract compliance and smooth project delivery.
  • Provide detailed project reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the health and safety team to ensure adherence to all safety guidelines
  • Manage project budgets, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective delivery without compromising quality.
  • Monitor and report on project KPIs, striving to meet and exceed targets.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in roofing contracts management, specifically in sheeting and cladding
  • Strong knowledge of roofing refurbishment projects and associated safety regulations.
  • Experience managing contractors and suppliers, with strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly related to asbestos removal and disposal.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with both office and site teams.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing project needs.
