About the RoleAre you a skilled Credit Controller with a proactive approach to managing receivables and building strong client relationships? Join a fast-paced organisation based in Birmingham, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring our cash flow remains healthy and our customer accounts are up to date.

This permanent position offers an initial training period of up to 12 weeks, fully in the office. After this period, you'll transition to a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Proactively contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve overdue payments.
  • Investigate and resolve queries or disputes relating to billing and account discrepancies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure effective debt recovery.
  • Prepare regular reports on aged debt and escalate problematic accounts where necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and accounts, to ensure smooth resolution of payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activities.

About You

  • Proven experience in a credit control or similar role.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
