RM Recruit are partnering with an Academy Trust to recruit a Chief Finance and Operations Officer post for their senior management team. This is a newly created role and will play a key role in the organisation moving from Single Academy Trust status to a small Multi Academy Trust.

The CFOO will hold responsibility for the delivery of a cohesive, cost-effective business strategy that ensures high quality service to the Trust’s schools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Line management of  senior roles within the wider central team (Finance & HR Manager, Estates Manager) to deliver a highly effective and high performing function.
  • Strategic finance planning and recommendations to the Finance Committee and Board
  • Delivery of external & internal audit and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Efficient management of accounting system and processes
  • Setting operational budgets to ensure sound budgetary control and forecasting
  • Development of financial reporting and operational management for statutory purposes
  • Oversight of all non-educational related compliance matters across the Trust
  • Responsibility for internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed
  • Lead on the identification and review of risks and actions to mitigate risks ensuring the risk register is up to date at all times
  • Responsible for Trust compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook, Articles of Association, and all committee terms of reference

The trust requires all applicants to be fully a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CIPFA) and hold experience in an Academy or regulated Not for Profit settings. This role will have hybrid working in place
