We are working with a fast-paced, PE-backed manufacturing business based in Birmingham to recruit an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller. This is a high-impact role, ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong technical background, excellent working capital management skills, and experience operating in a highly leveraged, private equity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 finance professionals across group reporting, FP&A, and transactional finance
Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Drive working capital efficiency and provide critical insights to support cash flow improvement
Deliver high-quality technical accounting guidance, group consolidation, and statutory reporting
Partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership on strategic financial decisions
Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, investors, and lenders in a high-leverage setting
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Proven track record in a similar Group FC role within a PE-backed, leveraged business
Strong technical accounting expertise (IFRS/UK GAAP)
Deep understanding of working capital management and cash forecasting
Experience leading and motivating sizeable finance teams
Able to hit the ground running in a fast-moving, hands-on environment
