Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to provide targeted support for a KS2 pupil with SEMH needs, ASD, and ADHD at a primary school near Quinton, Birmingham (B32). This long-term position presents the potential for a permanent role for a candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to promoting positive behavioural and academic progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 tailored support, helping the pupil navigate daily challenges and access learning effectively.
  • Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, focus, and social interaction.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities and create a structured, supportive environment.
  • Use positive behaviour management techniques to de-escalate situations and encourage self-regulation.
  • Establish a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil to build confidence and engagement in learning.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or relevant experience in behaviour support).
  • Prior experience working with children with SEMH needs, ASD, and ADHD, particularly within a primary school setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices in child protection.
