What to Expect in this Role:

As a Community Psychiatric Nurse specializing in CAMHS, you’ll play a crucial role in providing support to young people facing mental health challenges. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular community visits to ensure the mental health and well-being of patients are monitored and maintained.
  • Administering depot injections and ensuring timely medication delivery to support ongoing treatment.
  • Supporting with hospital discharges and helping young people transition smoothly into the community.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and engaging in the Joint Care Team (JCT) process to coordinate care plans effectively.
  • Providing emotional and therapeutic support by building strong relationships with patients and their families to monitor progress, setbacks, and potential risks.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments to ensure the safety of patients and those around them.
Requirements for the Role:
  • Active NMC registration as a mental health nurse (RMN).
  • Proven community experience—CAMHS experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the JCT process and experience supporting hospital discharges.
  • Ability to administer depot injections and manage medication orders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider healthcare team.
  • A passion for delivering the highest quality of care to young people in the community.
