Your new companyHays are delighted to be partnering with one of our key housing association clients to deliver on a Head of Retrofit role based in Birmingham, with the role paying up to £87,500 per annum. This role is a transformational position within the organisation's structure, delivering on retrofit, modernisation and energy programmes. Your role will spearhead plans for future investment in the housing portfolio, ensuring well-maintained, safe and secure homes for their tenants.Your new roleYour new role as Head of Retrofit will lead the transition from pilot plan to a new standard programme, by identifying opportunity, addressing risk, and implementing strict financial controls. Duties of your role will include:

  • Lead the management of main contractors, ensuring successful delivery of the programmes under your control.
  • Ensure the successful completion of projects under your control, in scope of budget and under legislation.
  • Reach the organisation's target plans for EPC Banding.
  • Develop new and improved methods to control costs, and enhance tenant experience.
  • Define contract management processes including KPI's.
  • Develop strong and robust procurement plans and maintain these throughout.
  • Lead, develop and manage your team, maximising their potential and creating future leaders within the organisation.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure legislative compliance.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to succeed in this role, you will ideally be qualified with the RICS or CIOB, or have extensive experience within a similar role and setting. You will have key experience of delivering retrofit or similar initiatives within housing associations or similar, and managing teams of staff and contractors across large property portfolios. You should ideally have a Level 5 Housing Management Qualification, or have the willingness to work towards this whilst in post.
