The Role

Join the company as an Application Support Specialist and become a key player in supporting and optimising their suite of business systems and applications across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. This vital role will put you at the heart of their IT operations, providing high-level support and troubleshooting across financial, invoicing, IT, and ERP systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Support: Provide expert support for a range of business systems, ensuring smooth daily operations across Sage X3 and other key tools.
  • System Administration: Take ownership of database and server administration, using RDP, MS SQL, and other tools to maintain and troubleshoot Sage X3 and related systems.
  • End-User Interaction: Work closely with business users and IT teams to resolve incidents, queries, and service requests, offering timely and effective solutions.
  • Report Creation: Write ad-hoc reports for end users, leveraging your understanding of underlying database schemas in both production and test environments.
  • Collaborative Effort: Work in partnership with developers, business analysts and vendors, supporting projects and system enhancements, especially during transitions from legacy systems to modern applications.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to documentation, including guides and troubleshooting materials, to ensure knowledge is shared across the team and with end users.
  • System Integration: Support and understand the interfaces between systems and Sage X3, playing a crucial role in ensuring smooth data flow and system functionality. Update servers on a regular basis.
  • Upgrade Management: Be actively involved in application upgrades, testing, documenting change requests, and gaining approvals through CAB meetings.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in application support or a similar IT support role, with familiarity in ERP systems such as Sage X3 or similar.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, RDP, MS SQL, database management, and server maintenance. Experience with Azure Active Directory, preferable and cloud-based applications is a plus.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, dive into databases to understand underlying schemas, and create actionable reports for end users.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, business users, and vendors.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in managing support tickets, troubleshooting incidents, and maintaining system accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work during holidays or as needed by management.
