Network Architect – Legacy Technologies – 1 Year contract - £550 per day – Birmingham – 5 days on site – Live SC Clearance required
Reed Secure are supporting an innovative client in the technology field, in the search for a Network Architect with a focus on Legacy Technologies to join their team on a one-year contract. This role is crucial for delivering network solutions within the secure Defence and National Security sector. The successful candidate will have live SC Clearance and a strong background in the defence sector, contributing to the mission of making the world more sustainable through innovative trust-building in society.

- Job Type: On-site (5 days a week), with travel to customer sites
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work collaboratively in service and project teams to design and implement medium to large network solutions.
- Understand business and technical requirements to produce relevant design collateral, ensuring it passes governance reviews.
- Provide hands-on configuration and implementation support.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across various network setups.
- Ensure effective handover to service after project completion.
- Travel to customer sites and other locations as required for project execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be SC Cleared - sole British citizenship required.
- Strong experience with legacy circuit-switched networks and point-to-point connectivity.
- Proficient in designing and implementing TDM networks, including multiplexers and demultiplexers.
- Skilled in configuring and managing routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Knowledgeable in SDH, WDM, ATM, Frame-Relay, and circuit to packet emulation (CTP).
- Experience implementing QoS for bandwidth management and reliable data transmission.
- Ability to implement security measures such as encryption, authentication, and secure routing protocols.
- Capable of diagnosing and resolving issues in both point-to-point and packet-switched networks.
- Demonstrable experience in producing high-quality technical documentation for delivery and solution support.
- Solid understanding of project lifecycle from end to end.
