IT Project Manager - Birmingham - Hybrid (2 days a week) - Up to £75,000 DOE

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects within a dynamic insurance company. Based in their Birmingham office, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, experience working within the insurance sector, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of IT projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources.
  • Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project progress, risks, and changes.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and roadblocks, and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Oversee project team members, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure successful execution.
  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2).
  • Monitor project performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques, producing regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and implement lessons learned to improve future project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and IT security protocols within the scope of all projects.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, ideally in the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2).
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and system integration.
  • Experience managing a range of projects, from small-scale initiatives to complex, enterprise-level transformations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to risk management.
  • A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, PRINCE2) are desirable.
