Regulatory Transport Solicitor – 2–6 PQE | Leading National Law Firm | Hybrid | Birmingham

Are you a solicitor with a passion for regulatory law and an interest in the dynamic world of transport and logistics? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing Regulatory team that works with some of the largest and most high-profile transport operators across the UK and Europe.

The Role

Join a nationally recognised Regulatory team specialising in transport law. You'll support the growth of a thriving practice, managing a varied caseload of matters for major transport and logistics operators.

Key responsibilities

  • Advising on operator licensing and regulatory compliance
  • Representing clients in DVSA investigations and Traffic Commissioner hearings
  • Preparing legal documents, witness statements, and compliance reviews
  • Conducting advocacy at Public Inquiries and Preliminary Hearings
  • Delivering client training, risk audits, and regulatory due diligence
  • Supporting broader regulatory matters where needed (e.g. H&S, corporate crime)

Development & Opportunities

About You

Essential:

  • Qualified Solicitor (2–6 years PQE)
  • Strong interest in regulatory or criminal defence law
  • Confident managing complex caseloads independently
  • Excellent drafting, time management, and client communication skills
  • Willingness to travel across the UK for client meetings and hearings

Desirable:

  • Existing experience in transport regulatory or wider regulatory law
  • Previous advocacy or willingness to build on advocacy skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and client-facing experience
  • Passion for BD – writing, presenting, and relationship-building
