We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our client based in Birmingham City Centre on a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. In this role, you will provide both strategic and operational HR support, ensuring that our people strategy aligns with business objectives. You will act as a trusted advisor to managers, enabling them to build and maintain high-performing teams while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals and drive employee engagement.
  • Lead on key HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices.
  • Support and coach managers in handling complex employee relations cases, ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies.
  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring a seamless and positive employee experience.
  • Manage and oversee HR policies and processes, continuously improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure accurate HR data management and reporting, using insights to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
  • Partner with hiring managers on recruitment strategies, supporting the attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Lead on HR projects such as engagement surveys, performance management initiatives, and wellbeing programmes.
  • Act as a key liaison for payroll and benefits administration, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Provide strategic advice on change management and organisational development initiatives.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process, including conducting HR inductions, explaining company benefits, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is in place.
  • Support the administration of key HR processes, including employee contracts, leaver documentation, and any changes to terms and conditions of employment.
  • Ensure systematic management of time-sensitive processes, such as probation reviews and family leave calculations.
  • Oversee attendance, absence monitoring, and holiday records, ensuring compliance with company policy and best practices.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees, resolving queries where possible and directing them to relevant resources as needed.

Previous experience/ skill set:

  • Proven experience in a HR Business Partnering role, with a strong understanding of both strategic and operational HR.
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in talent management, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use HR data to inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Excel for reporting and data management.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification preferred.
