About the Role:
GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Business Support Officer – HR to join a dynamic school team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to support HR operations in a busy educational environment, contributing to the smooth running of the school and the success of its staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee recruitment processes, including job advertisements, interview coordination, and staff onboarding.
  • Manage and maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection and school policies.
  • Support payroll administration, absence monitoring, and contract management.
  • Provide advice and support on HR policies, ensuring staff have a clear understanding of procedures.
  • Conduct safeguarding checks, including maintaining the Single Central Record and processing DBS checks.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on HR initiatives and contribute to the development of the school's HR strategy.

  • Proven experience in HR or administrative roles, ideally within an educational or public sector setting.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
