Exciting Opportunity: Payroll Bureau Executive

Job Purpose

Join their dynamic payroll team and play a pivotal role in delivering seamless, accurate, and timely payroll services to our diverse clients. As a Payroll Executive, you'll be at the heart of payroll operations, utilising cutting-edge tools and reports to analyse, process, and ensure the smooth running of payroll functions.

What You'll Do:

  • End-to-End Payroll Processing: Take charge of processing all aspects of payroll, including BACS operations, ensuring precision and timeliness. Meet critical deadlines and keep everything running smoothly.

  • First-Line Payroll Checks: Collaborate with the team to carry out thorough payroll checks, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering 100% accuracy on every calculation.

  • Client Communication: Act as a trusted point of contact, providing excellent communication with both internal teams and external clients. Your professionalism will shine through in every interaction.

  • New Starters and Leavers: Manage the seamless onboarding and offboarding of employees, ensuring smooth transitions every time.

  • Pensions, Sick Pay & Holiday Pay: Process all necessary payments, including pensions and statutory leave entitlements, with careful attention to detail.

  • Statutory Deductions: Ensure that all necessary deductions are accurately applied, keeping everything in line with current legislation.

  • Problem Solving: Tackle ad-hoc duties, resolve client queries, and manage complex payroll challenges, including liaising with HMRC when necessary.

  • Collaborative Support: Support the Payroll Bureau Manager to ensure monthly deadlines are consistently met and that all processes are well-documented and continuously improved.

  • Varied Payroll Duties: Get involved with a wide range of ad-hoc payroll tasks, embracing every challenge that comes your way!

What We're Looking For:

  • Payroll Expertise: Proven experience with end-to-end payroll processing and handling high-volume payrolls (circa 2000 payslips or more). Exposure to weekly payrolls and payroll bureau operations is a big plus.

  • In-Depth Knowledge: A solid understanding of statutory deductions, including pensions and auto-enrolment regulations.

  • Communication Skills: You'll need exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage with multiple stakeholders and explain complex payroll matters in an accessible way.

  • Self-Starter & Team Player: Ability to work independently and efficiently, while being a collaborative and proactive member of a high-performing team.

  • Excel Mastery: You're comfortable working with Excel, running reports, and reconciling data-importing CSV files is second nature to you.

  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Gmail, Google Meet, and Monday board is an advantage.

  • Detail-Oriented: Precision and attention to detail are critical in this role-mistakes aren't an option when it comes to payroll.
