A leading engineering supplier based in the West Midlands is seeking a Technical Account Manager. This company specialises in the design, manufacture, and assembly of precision components and machine tools. With over 30 years of industry experience, they serve a diverse range of sectors, offering products such as special-purpose machines, jigs, fixtures, press tools, moulds, and gauges. They also provide general machining services, focusing on precise tolerances for small-batch production and one-off components.

Position Overview: We are looking for highly motivated, career-driven sales professionals who thrive in a customer-facing environment and enjoy working collaboratively with a wider team.

  • Salary: Negotiable (Circa 50k) + Bonus + Car + Pension
  • Location: 1 day per week on-site, with the remainder visiting customers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of existing clients and generate new business, taking ownership of these relationships.
  • Allocate time between 75% existing business and 25% new business.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all product inquiries.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with customers to understand their requirements and effectively sell solutions.
  • Build professional relationships with customers, from shop floor to director level.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, devices, and company property are well-maintained.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in selling technical products, such as machinery or equipment for the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven ability to effectively sell solutions in front of customers.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Clean UK Driver's License.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively and occasionally stay overnight in hotels.
