Your new companyDue to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker to join their SEND team. Birmingham City Council provides the city's residents with a number of services to ensure stability within citizens' daily lives.Your new roleThis role will involve working as an active member of the Elective Home Education Team, responding to newly referred and existing home-educating families to promote regular service engagement and offering advice and support.As part of this role, you will be working within agreed timeframes to allocate referrals, ensuring home-educating parents are aware of their role and responsibilities in regard to their children's education. This will involve undertaking checks, ensuring children are not at risk of harm and escalating any concerns appropriately and ensuring all referrals are allocated and effectively recorded and monitored on the Impulse database. You will also communicate and report back to the Elective Home Education Team regularly and liaise with any other appropriate departments or agencies necessary.What you'll need to succeedThey are ideally looking for a candidate with a minimum of Level 3 NVQ in Children & Families Social Care, Education Welfare, Youth Work, Early Years or Teaching who also has experience within the education sector and can therefore offer a sound understanding of the needs of home education.An enhanced DBS is essential for this role.What you'll get in returnThis is a full-time, interim position on an ongoing 3-month contract with an hourly rate of £16.85.As a Hays contractor, you will have a dedicated consultant who will support you throughout the recruitment process as well as whilst you are at work.
