Tradewind are seeking an enthusiastic and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team in an all-accessible mainstream primary school based in Northfield. The successful candidate will support the Teacher in providing an outstanding education to an individual with specific physical and health needs. who requires hoisting and personal care.

Responsibilities:

Work with the individual learner on a 1:1 basis, providing differentiated support and encouragement to meet their specific needs.

Supporting with communication and language needs and providing 1:1 and small group support as needed to assist in developing children's communication, social, emotional and behavioural skills.

Work collaboratively with parents, carers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

Help to maintain accurate records and progress reports to inform ongoing planning and assessment.

There is an element of personal care involved with this role and so the right candidate must be equipped in providing the right support in this area.

Requirements:

CACHE Level 3 Teaching Assistant for SEN qualification, or equivalent.

Must be Hoist Trained and have experience working in this area and working with children with special educational needs.

Knowledge of Primary national curriculum, and how to effectively support children with Special Educational Needs in the classroom.

Ability to use a range of specialist strategies and resources to support children with Special Educational Needs.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with parents, carers and other professionals.

Highly organized with good record-keeping skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a positive, flexible and proactive attitude.

Desired:

The role may have potential to also deliver small phonics lessons for candidates who are experienced in this area, experience of physiotherapy is also preferred but not essential to the role.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
